Balen continues to widen his lead against Oli

Kathmandu, March 7: In Jhapa-5, the candidate of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Balendra Shah (Balen), has continued to widen his lead over CPN-UML candidate K.P. Sharma Oli.

Out of 55,207 votes counted so far, Balen is in the lead with 34,863 votes. He is followed by UML candidate and former Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli, who has received 9,068 votes.

Samir Tamang of the Shram Shakti Party is in third place with 5,645 votes.

According to the election officer, 2,323 votes have been declared invalid out of the 55,207 votes counted.
