Kathmandu, Sept 27: Harka Sampang, mayor of Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City, has demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Sushila Karki.
Citing that PM Karki has failed to act in line with the spirit of the Gen Z movement, Mayor Sampang urged her to step down.
On social media platform Facebook, he wrote: “Ms. Sushila… you have not been able to act according to the spirit of Gen Z! Please resign! I will fulfill their demands, one by one!”
Prime Minister Karki has been in office for only a few days. Her cabinet is yet to be fully formed. After two expansions, it now has eight members. Karki herself holds nine ministries, and several other ministers are responsible for more than two ministries each.
Criticism has begun to emerge as some ministers, including the Prime Minister, are appointed at around 70 years of age in a government formed after the youth-led movement.
