Government committed to corruption control, good government and social justice: PM Karki

Kathmandu, September 26: Prime Minister Sushila Karki said that the present government is firmly committed to reducing corruption, ensuring good governance, and promoting social justice.

Delivering her first address to the nation Thursday, September 25, from Singha Durbar, Prime Minister Karki announced that a ‘hotline’ has been set up at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, as well as in relevant government bodies at all three levels, for lodging complaints in case of delays, corruption, or hassles in any government office.

On the demand for the amendment issues related to the constitution, she clarified that the people-elected parliament is responsible for it and she urged everyone to support the government, which, she said, is operating in line with the spirit and sentiments of the Gen Z movement.

She further informed that budgets allocated under fragmented projects without guaranteed resources in the current fiscal year have been scrapped, while a ‘Reconstruction Fund’ has been established for rebuilding damaged physical infrastructure.

She said that the government is committed for investigation on corruption scandals and investigation will be carried out on the use of excessive use of force in suppressing the Gen Z demonstration on September 8.

The Prime Minister appealed to all civil servants not to engage in activities that would demoralize people in the changed context, but instead to transform themselves and deliver efficient public service.
