
Kathmandu, Sept 25: Heavy rains have triggered floods and landslides that have blocked five major highways across the country.
According to Nepal Police Headquarters, the Koshi Highway has been completely blocked at Bhotkhola-4 Varun and Makalu-3 Ekua in Sankhuwasabha.
Similarly, the Pasang Lhamu Highway at the Miteri Bridge connecting Nepal and China in Gosainkunda-2, Rasuwa, the Muglin-Narayanghat section at Ichhakamana-5 in Chitwan, and the Mid-Hill Highway at Bhume-4 in Rukum East are all fully obstructed, said Police Spokesperson and Deputy Inspector General Binod Ghimire.
He added that the East-West Highway in Nawalparasi East, the Kaligandaki Corridor in Baglung, and the Trishuli-Mailung road in Rasuwa are operating in a one-way system.
