Clearing landslide debris at Tuinkhola will take time

Kathmandu, Sept 25: It will take more time to clear the landslide near the Tui Khola bridge along the Muglin–Narayangadh road section. According to the Bharatpur Road Division Office, heavy rainfall on Wednesday evening made it difficult to remove the debris late into the night, causing further delays.

“Since 5:30 this morning, five machines have been working continuously from both the Narayangadh and Muglin sides to clear the landslide,” the office said, “but because the area is narrow, not many machines can be operated at the same time. This is why clearing the landslide will take more time.”

Earlier, the office had stated that the landslide would be removed and the blocked road reopened within two days. The office has urged the public not to use the road until traffic resumes completely. The road has been fully blocked since Tuesday.
