Nepal Airlines to operate Guangzhou flight from Sept 25

Kathmandu, Sept 21 : Nepal Airlines will start direct flights between Kathmandu and Guangzhou on September 25, marking its first entry on this busy route. Executive Chairman Yubraj Adhikari said all clearances and preparations are complete.

The carrier will initially operate three weekly services. The first two flights are set for September 25 and 28, with additional flights on October 16, 19, and 23. After that, regular flights will run every Sunday, Tuesday, and Saturday.

Fares have been set at Rs 30,000 one way and Rs 50,000 for a round trip. Nepal Airlines also plans to expand further with future direct services to South Korea and Australia.

The route is currently served by China Southern Airlines and Himalaya Airlines, but Nepal Airlines expects to tap strong demand from the large Nepali community living in Guangzhou. Officials say the flights should boost revenue for the state-owned carrier.

With this addition, Nepal Airlines now operates its flights to to 11 international destinations in nine countries. Its current network includes Doha, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Bangkok, Dammam, and Narita. The airline operates with two narrow-body and two wide-body aircraft.
