629 public buildings were completely damaged during the Gen Z unrest

Kathmandu, September 20: During the Gen Z demonstration, 629 buildings in different areas of the country were completely damaged by vandalism and arson on September 8. More than 1,500 buildings were partially damaged in the attack.

Central Spokesperson of Nepal Police, Deputy Inspector General of Police Binod Ghimire informed that Nepal Police has collected preliminary information about the damage caused to those buildings due to vandalism and arson during the movement.

According to him, 177 buildings of Nepal Police alone have been completely damaged in the movement. Spokesman Ghimire said that 258 buildings of the police were partially damaged. 310 government offices have been completely destroyed by vandalism and arson. According to preliminary information, a total of 836 government buildings have been partially damaged.

97 commercial and private buildings were completely damaged and 292 commercial and private buildings were partially damaged. Similarly, 45 party offices of different political parties have been completely damaged while 174 offices have been partially damaged, according to the details collected by the police.

He said that the assessment is still underway and the process of collecting details of the damage is still underway.
