People start going home to celebrate Dasain festival

Kathmandu, September 19: As the great festival of the Nepalese, Bada Dshai, approaches, the new bus park in Gongbu, Kathmandu, is crowded with people leaving the capital. The bustle in the bus park has intensified as the number of travelers returning home to celebrate the festival is increasing day by day. The advance booking of tickets has not been opened this year. However, Saroj Sitaula, senior vice-president of the Federation of National Transport Entrepreneurs of Nepal, informed that there is a provision to book tickets five to six days in advance.

Similarly, the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Office has put into operation a festival-oriented citizen assistance desk. The traffic office has set up citizen assistance desks at various places, including the new bus park in Gongabu, Kathmandu. This year’s Dasain festival begins on Monday, September 22 and will continue for 15 days. However, the main events of the festival will start from September 23 and will continue till October 3.
