
Kathmandu, Sept 14: The Nepal Army has started releasing former ministers who had been given a safety cover by sheltering them at army barracks. During the Gen Z protests, the army had provided safety cover the then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, all ministers, and party chiefs.
They had been kept at different army barracks for security reasons. Those who had been kept at the Bhairabnath Battalion have been released today. The army had restricted them from using mobile phones while in custody, but they were allowed to use them after Sushila Karki was sworn in as Prime Minister. One of the released ministers confirmed they have been allowed to return home from today.
