
Kathmandu, Sept 8: The Nepali Congress has called an emergency meeting of current and former party officials. Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba will host the meeting at his residence in Budhanilkantha, where the party’s official stance on the Gen Z protests and the social media shutdown is expected to be announced, said General Secretary Bishwprakash Sharma.
According to Sharma, all available party officials and former office-bearers in the Valley have been invited. Earlier this morning, General Secretaries Sharma and Gagan Thapa met President Deuba, urging him to immediately press for the reversal of the social media shutdown.
The Congress plans to use the decisions from the meeting to exert pressure on the government.
