Janakpurdham, Aug 17: A husband and wife died from electric shock in Saptari. The deceased have been identified as 50-year-old Badri Sardar and his 45-year-old wife, Bimala Devi Sardar, from Kanchanrup Municipality–5, Pipara.
According to DSP Madhav Prasad Kafle, chief of the local police office in Kanchanrup, the couple received the electric shock around 8 a.m. on Saturday while returning home after working in their field.
The incident occurred when they touched a fence installed by local resident Mahendra Sardar to protect the paddy crops from wild animals. Both died at the scene. The police have said further investigation is underway.
