A Kathmandu pilgrim dies after falling off cliff in Bajura

Bajura, Aug 8: A pilgrim died after falling off a cliff on the way back to Nateshwari from the Badimalika temple in Bajura. According to DSP Iqbal Hawari of the District Police Office, Bajura, the deceased has been identified as 52-year-old Biplav Ojha from Gokarneshwar Municipality-5, Kathmandu.

Hawari said Ojha fell near Bisnepani around 7 PM on Thursday (Shrawan 22) while returning after the temple visit and was later found dead in a stream. The body, stuck in the stream, has not yet been retrieved.

Due to continuous rainfall, it has been difficult to bring the body up from the stream. Although there were plans to deploy a Nepal Army helicopter for rescue, police said poor weather conditions have made it impossible.
