Kathmandu , July 31: The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has released a report detailing the impact of the monsoon since it entered Nepal on May 29 (Jestha 15).
According to the report published on Wednesday, a total of 568 disaster-related incidents have occurred across the country during the two-month period. These incidents resulted in the deaths of 43 people, while 18 have gone missing and 116 sustained injuries. Additionally, 2,112 families have been directly affected by monsoon-triggered disasters.
Compared to the same period last year, the authority noted a decline in both the number of incidents and the extent of human and physical damage. However, it highlighted the sudden flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa as a major event, causing significant destruction to lives and property.
