Family dispute reflects dispute in the party

Kathmandu, July 1: The Nagarik Unmukti Party’s parliamentary party meeting has changed the leader and chief whip of the parliamentary party. Gangaram Chaudhary Dagoura has been elected as the leader of the parliamentary party after removing Ranjita Shrestha, chairman of the Party. Earlier, Dagoura was the chief whip of the parliamentary party. Lalbeer Chaudhary has been made Chief Whip in his place. He is the father-in-law of NUP chair Shrestha. Lalbeer Chaudhary was not sided to any of the factions after the dispute between NUP patron Resham Chaudhary and President Shrestha. Lately, he sided with Resham. Ranjita faced a minority after her father-in-law sided with Resham, husband of Ranjita.

There are four MPs from NUP in the House of Representatives. Party chair Shrestha was preparing to become a minister. She discussed with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and UML chair KP Sharma Oli and agreed to let Naupa participate in the government. Shrestha was removed as the leader of the parliamentary party ti stop her from becoming a minister. The federal parliament secretariat will be informed today about the fact that she was removed from the parliamentary party leader and Dagoura was elected as the leader of the parliamentary party.The recent act in NUP indicates a widening dispute between a husband and his wife.
