Government removes three province chiefs

Kathmandu, March 11: The new coalition government has decided to remove the province chiefs of the Gandaki, Madhesh, and Sudur Paschim provinces. 

Rekha Sharma, spokesperson for the government, said that the cabinet meeting held today decided to dismiss the province chiefs of the three provinces of their responsibilities.

Prithvi Man Gurung, chief in Gandaki, Hari Shankar Mishra in Madhes, and Devraj Joshi in Sudur Paschim are the province chiefs being dismissed.

The cabinet meeting also decided to appoint Sumitra Bhandari, Dilli Raj Bhatta, and Nazir Miyan as province chiefs in Madhes, Gandaki, and Sudur Paschim, respectively.

President Ramchandra Paudel should remove and appoint province chiefs following the recommendation of the government. 

Along with a change of partners in the coalition government, the new coalition government has decided to remove province chiefs representing the Nepali Congress and assign new province chiefs.
