In the year 2033 B.S, when Nepali Congress leader BP Koirala returned home with the policy of national unity and reconciliation, every year the party had a tradition of holding a tea party on the day of Kojagrat Purnima to exchange greetings.
The situation where the party, individuals, and leaders of the party are under the ban, many types of sedition and arashtriya tatwa the case is pending in the court, the condition of BP himself was not so good, the CID used to be imposed on who meets BP, Ganeshman, Manmohan Adhikari and other leaders. In such a situation, a different message was sent by Panchayat prime minister Surya Bahadur Thapa going to the tea party organized by BP.
At that time, the relevance, justification, and importance of it cannot be underestimated. After that, Ganeshman also continued, while CPN UML and other parties also conducted such a program.
It was not a new thing to see on social media that the President of the Nepali Congress stood up and welcomed the President of Raswapa, because they meet every day when they go to Parliament, or they can call and arrange a time to meet.
In the current situation, especially in the digital age and even after the republic, in the situation where people can meet in seconds through social networks and express their opinions, it is unnecessary to have a tea party, i.e. show the power of the party, the traffic situation, even if only 100,000 guests come, tea, samosas, and at the rate of Rs 100 for Kachaudi, Bhujia, the total amount will be Rs 1 crore. Even if that amount is spent on development or saved, it will not be on a teapot.
Instead of changing oneself and the party according to time, it is better to be more self-reliant and less dependent on others. It can be a topic of discussion. People, open society, and social networks, including information technology and its relevance in the republic, what does it look like when compared with the current situation? Is it time for a person coming from villagers? 8 out of 10 people in high positions in Kathmandu were born in villages. The leaders of the political parties at the center of the country’s development, from the prime minister to the ministers, were all born and brought up in villages.

Political leaders at the Nepali Congress tea party
Some of Nepal’s best industry operators, contractors who are earning a good income, heads of private schools and campuses, chief CEOs of public institutions, and development workers who are earning a good income by working in many social organizations are also born in the village.
For most of the people who are related to the village in one way or another, such a tea party can be an opportunity for party workers and ordinary people to talk about the work of village development.
After the implementation of the Constitution of 2072, there was an illusion among many that it might be a mistake to try to forget the confusing period of the past.
By saying this, we cannot forget the problems seen in Tarai and other areas. Even now, many Tarai residents and Nepalese who go to the mountains through the Tarai road are in trouble due to the problems seen there.
It has become mandatory for the government to appeal to such groups to protect the rights of the people to observe festivals on occasions like Dasain, Tihar, and Chhath. Now, politically, the form and essence of Nepali festivals, especially Dashain, Tihar, Chhath, have changed constitutionally between parties and individuals.
Earlier, we used to consider Dasain a mandatory festival of Hindu dominion. So it was a national festival. Since the constitution in 2072, Nepal has become a secular nation. Now it is not seen as a national festival but it is like a festival of more than 80 plus percent Hindus.
However, everyone should be aware of allowing the tradition of respecting those who want to celebrate freely to continue as before. This helps prevent dividing lines among the Nepalis.
Apart from that, just as all Nepalese have accepted the importance of Dasain, Tihar, Chhath, many festivals like Lhosar, Sakewa, Chhaith, Maghi, Chasok, Tangnam, and Eid should also be given importance.
It helps to make Nepalis culturally one. All Nepali must protect their cultural heritage.
To develop it as a soulful festival for the Nepali people, it should be promoted as a symbol of unity and happiness. The belief that it should always be seen culturally should be changed with time.
But don’t act like a Tea Party dog chasing a moving car in the crowd. Instead, should we open a political party called “Tea Party” as a new independent party in Nepal? In other countries too, the Tea Party exists in a political form.
The political tea party should not really be a grassroots movement. It may feel that way at first, but it can quickly be organized by professional political operators.

Political leaders from different political parties and ideologies gather at one table at the UML tea party.
So the Tea Party should romanticize the ignorance of Nepal’s history/excessive Nepali history. Do the work to destroy the ignorance of Nepali financial policy. Ignorance of Nepali legal history should be removed. Eliminate ignorance of real regulatory policies. Ignorance of the history of economic policy, ignorance of the content of economic policy, ignorance of the constitution, federalism and the reason for the separation of provinces, ignorance of real discussion conferences, ignorance of the effect of their actions, ignorance of the effect of other people’s actions, ignorance of the civil rights movement, ignorance of statistics, ignorance of world politics, Nepali politics. ignorance, ignorance of the role of taxes in protecting national interests, ignorance of the role of credit in nation-building, ignorance of the role of currency in nation-building, ignorance of the balance of power in the Nepali political system, ignorance of the role of business in nation building, ignorance of international treaties and relations, oversimplification of complex problems, working within the current political system inability to do, differences in point of ineffectiveness, nationalism, secularism and nationalism about the Hindu state, the benefits of citizenship, it is important to succeed in conveying the message that one is willing to contribute to the welfare of the people.
Festivals celebrate and showcase various aspects of the country’s heritage, traditions and values. They play an important role in shaping cultural identity and fostering a sense of community among people.
Here is the question of how festivals affect a country’s culture and economy: Effects on Culture Preservation of Traditions. Festivals often include traditional rituals, performances and activities that have been passed down through generations.
They help preserve and transmit cultural knowledge to younger generations, ensuring the continuity of cultural practices and customs. Under cultural exchange and understanding, festivals attract people from different regions and backgrounds, promote cultural exchange and promote mutual understanding between diverse communities.
It can increase tolerance and appreciation for other cultures. Strengthening national identity national festivals can strengthen the unity and identity of a country. They serve as reminders of historical events or important national figures, promoting shared national pride and patriotism.
In addition, festivals play an important role in shaping a country’s culture, fostering a sense of community and identity, and can generate significant economic benefits by promoting tourism, promoting local businesses and creating employment opportunities. They are an essential aspect of the social and economic condition of the country. Festivals are an important part of Nepali culture. And it plays a big role in the Nepali economy. how? During the festival, the demand for goods and services is higher than on normal days.
As consumption capacity (consumption rate) is high, it also increases the supply side. Therefore, the producers have to be able to produce more, while the import also increases significantly.
In the same way, intelligent people also spend more (purchasing power) during the festival and improve the market conditions. The best examples of this are Dashain, Tihar, Chhath and other festivals
There is a huge demand for fruits, sweets, khasi, goats, crabs, fish, earthen lamps, electric lamps and decorations. On the other hand, gifts like sweets, chocolates and other gifts are also in great demand.
Similarly, the demand for traditional Nepali sweets like Lakha Mari, Asrsa, Anarsa, Fini, Sel etc. is also at its peak. All these sellers/buyers are part of economic activity.
The contribution of climate to a country’s GDP leads to growth and can sometimes slow it down. Therefore, festivals seem to play an important role in the economic activities of the country. The following things are observed during the festive season: Sudden increase in demand and supply of specific goods and services high consumption rate i.e. spending power sudden increase in peak purchasing power in some sectors of production and manufacturing I
Nepal’s Festival Economy
Some economists estimate that 40 to 70 percent of market activity takes place around Dashain, Tihar and Chhath. Consumers are believed to save on their consumption for another 10 months to spend during these festivals.
Electronics retailers, small shops, general stores, and clay craft sellers are booming during this period. Festivals bring new enthusiasm in people. People get more energy.
It remains to be seen what will happen this year due to the economic situation. The festive season should remind policymakers to prioritize increasing household income.
Over the past few years, household incomes have stagnated and inflation has not caused any increase in incomes. It is a stark reality that the government has to invest in infrastructure, create more jobs and increase the income of households to celebrate the festival.
Major festivals celebrated in Nepal have been associated with the agricultural economy here. In this context, it is believed that in the Kathmandu valley, the festival begins with the Indra Jatra and Machindranath Jatra. In the next few years, the culture of revelling in travelling started to grow from adding movable property during Dashain, Tihar.
It seems that the culture of going out with the family has started to replace the old custom of returning home and outside the country to celebrate festivals. Taking advantage of the long vacation, Nepalis go to visit destinations like Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.
The black market during festivals is another anomaly. Festivals are basically a religious and social process. Now, distortion has started to be seen in it. Jewellery display, gambling or alcohol consumption has become common. When we look at the history of economic thought, we understand that the idea of economics is closely related to the idea of culture, but in a common idea we must note that economics is what we do every day consciously or unconsciously, it is one.
Culture has evolved with every human culture we know today, but it is not the result of itself, it is dynamic and not static. The basic basis of human existence and existence has always revolved within the boundaries of economics, thus every family has its own economy, every village, every state and nation, because of that, festivals affect the economy only by looking at their resources.
