The UML government’s critics, specially of the pro-Congress sort, are making an all-out effort to discredit, even destabilise, Nepal’s first communist government less than two months after it has begun its term in office.
Indeed, in addition to their legitimate, sniping activities within parliament, the anti-UML campaign has been clearly discernible in the strident utterances of former prime minister Girija Prasad Koirala and Nepali Congress president Krishna Prasad Bharrarai, as well as underscored in sharp, possibly coordinated blasts in the pro-Congress media.
