The status of the petroleum mine in Dailekh and the possibility of commercial excavation will be determined after the final phase of exploration. It will also explain the possible technical aspects of operating a petroleum mine.

Exploration of petroleum products will be based on  Bhairavi Rural Municipality, Dullu Municipality, Dungeshwor Rural Municipality, Chamunda Bindrasaini Municipality, Mahabu Rural Municipality and some areas of Narayan Municipality.

An agreement was reached between the Department and the Chinese government’s Geological Survey Company for financial and technical assistance of Rs 2.4 billion for the exploration and extraction of petroleum products in Dailekh.

All expenses incurred in the exploration are being borne by the Chinese side. If the exploration in Dailekh yields fruit, the exploration  works in Palpa will also start with the help of China,  according to the department.
