Some 20 journalists belonging to the private media got the short end of the stick when they were prevented from entering the new Prime Minister Share Bahadur Deuba’s office in Singh Durbar on September 12 soon after Deuba was sworn in as Prime Minister. However, members of the official media were allowed to enter his office.
When Deuba emerged from his office he rejected the theory advanced by this correspondent that the mini-cabinet was an indicator of strong possible opposition by party MPs during the vote of confidence that his government will have to secure from the House soon.
