Bhim Rawal to challenge Oli to the post of party chair

Kathmandu, 21 November: UML vice-chairman Bhim Rawal has decided to contest for the post of UML chairman challenging K.P. Sharma Oli, who is willing to be elected to the post of party chair unopposed.

Rawal is likely to announce his candidature today by organizing a press conference.

Rawal is trying to contest the election by developing a panel.

UML is holding its 10th national convention from 26 to 28 November in Chitwan. The national convention is to elect new 15-member office bearers and central committee members.

Rawal is dissatisfied with Oli since Oli denied assigning him as the commander of the Far Western Province under the 10-point agreement.
