Around 50 dignitaries who were decorated with different prestigious medals have rejected to accept the medal.
Senior NC leader P.L. Singh has rejected to accept the medal saying that he has no faith in the present system, thus, he is unable to accept the medal offered by the government under the present constitution.
Singh is one among the NC leaders who believe the 1990 constitution was the best one and that constitution has to be reinstated by replacing the present system based on loot-tantra.
In general, the nation honours with such medals on dignitaries who have made a remarkable contribution to the nation and the people. The main criteria of the government for decorating with such medals are pleasing their party workers. Look at those who have received medals – they are belonging to the parties in the present alliance government and those journalists closed or supporting the government. Even though, many of the journalists have rejected the medal.
Medals to father and wife
We don’t know what was the contribution of Madhav Nepal’s deceased father. But Nepal’s father has been decorated with the medal. We all know, Sita Dahal is the wife of Pushpakamal Dahal Prachanda. She has also been decorated with a medal.
That aside, those corrupt officials and also those blacklisted contractors have also been decorated with the medals.
Indeed, as the system is corrupt, it is not odd to know that those corrupt people have been rewarded with the medals.
J.N. Khanal

The foundation is established by former prime minister J.N. Khanal. The foundation aims to produce medicine against snakebite which is a profit-making business.
Khanal received around ten million rupees for his treatment in Delhi.
