Prime Minister K. P. Sharma Oli on Friday faced the questions from the lawmakers at a meeting of the House of Representatives.
He answered all the queries raised by the lawmakers.
He said that he would respect the supremacy of the Parliament in terms of formulating laws.
Responding to the queries of the lawmakers, Prime Minister Oli said that he was committed to the sovereignty of Parliament and its freedom regarding the formulation of laws.
While replying to Nepali Congress lawmaker Gagan Thapa that past agreements with Dr. Govinda KC were not implemented by the government, PM Oli said that he was just the follower of the instructions of the Parliament.
He further said that the constitutional and parliamentary supremacy were also linked with Dr. KC’s hunger strike.
It was the sovereign rights of the representatives of the people regarding the formulation of the laws, the PM said.
He also said that it was not good to hold the entire country a hostage in the name of hunger strike staged by an individual.
“Agreements were reached with Dr. KC in certain circumstances. The government is committed to the agreements.” he said.
“I cannot diktat the Parliament. I will follow its instruction,” he added.
The Prime Minister said that necessary investigation would be conducted on the reported bank accounts of Nepalis in the Swiss banks and the facts would be made public.
Similarly, replying to the queries of NC lawmaker Dr. Minendra Rijal, the Prime Minister said that the government had not taken any decision to dissolve the government hospitals established in the name of late NC leaders Girija Prasad Koirala and Sushil Koirala.
