Ms. Hou Yanqi, Chinese Ambassador designate to Nepal arrived here on 29 December.
Deputy Chief of Protocol at the Foreign Ministry Khadga Dahal received the new ambassador at the Tribhuvan International Airport upon her arrival.
Hou is the 21st Chinese ambassador to Nepal since establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two nations in 1955.
Hou has replaced ambassador Yu Hong.
Earlier to her Nepal assignment, Hou was one among the four deputy director generals at the Department of Asian Affairs under the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
The new ambassador is known as South Asian expert, who had also served at the Chinese mission in Islamabad and fluent in Urdu language.
