
Kathmandu, Sept 19: The Nepali Congress Central Election Committee has urged active members, leaders and cadres at all levels to participate enthusiastically in ward conventions being held today and tomorrow.
The ward elections on Asoj 3 and 4 (September 19 and 20) mark the start of the party’s 15th general convention process. Under a Central Working Committee decision, the central convention will take place in Kathmandu from Asoj 16 to 19 (October 2–5, 2026).
In a statement, the committee’s member secretary, Raju Katuwal, said election officers had been deployed to all 77 districts and had begun preparations to conduct the ward elections.
District election officers have held extensive discussions with party office bearers and members at district and local levels. They have also completed arrangements including the deployment of polling officers to wards, the statement said.
The committee appealed to all active members and party bodies to disregard rumours and misleading information and take part enthusiastically in the ward conventions and electoral process.
