Bhotekoshi flood: 903 bodies recovered, 10,451 rescued

Kathmandu, Aug 31: The bodies of 903 people affected by the Bhotekoshi flood in Rasuwa have been recovered, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority.

The authority released the latest figures on Sunday, saying they were based on the situation as of 9 am.According to the authority, 4,227 people are still reported missing, while 10,451 people have been rescued. Unidentified bodies have been kept at 21 hospitals in different districts, the authority said.

Of the 267 people reported injured, 156 have been discharged from hospitals following treatment. A total of 20,819 security personnel have been mobilised for search, rescue, relief and rehabilitation operations. The deployment includes 8,722 personnel from the Nepal Army, 7,894 from Nepal Police and 4,203 from the Armed Police Force.
