Indian PM calls to PM Balen

Kathmandu, August 26: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Balendra Shah and expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and property caused by floods in Nepal.

Modi expressed his condolences to the Nepali people affected by the floods and said that India stands in solidarity with the people of Nepal during this difficult time.

“I spoke with Prime Minister Balendra Shah and expressed my condolences over the loss of lives and property caused by the floods in Nepal,” Modi said in a social media post.

He said India was ready to provide Nepal with all possible humanitarian assistance.

According to Modi, Indian rescue and relief teams are closely coordinating with the ongoing rescue and relief efforts in Nepal.

A devastating flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa on Wednesday morning caused extensive damage in Rasuwa as well as in Nuwakot, Dhading and other areas. Rescue and relief operations are continuing in the flood-affected areas.
