Kathmandu, Aug 26: Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has urged authorities to completely halt vehicular movement along the Prithvi Highway, Galchhi-Nuwakot-Rasuwa-Syabrubesi road, and Mugling-Narayangadh road due to the impact of flooding in the Bhotekoshi River.
Minister Gurung issued an emergency public notice and asked people to contact the toll-free number 1234 in case of an emergency.
As a major flood has entered the area, residents have been urged to remain highly alert along the banks of the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers, up to Mugling, until further notice.
Families living in riverbank areas of the high-risk districts of Rasuwa, Dhading, Gorkha, Chitwan and Nuwakot have been advised to stay in safe locations.
The minister also urged people to contact the authorities if search and rescue operations are needed or if any other assistance is required.
