More than 100,000 footfalls at Naima Expo

Kathmandu, Aug 15: The ongoing Naima Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 at Bhrikutimandap has drawn an unexpectedly large crowd, prompting organisers to make special arrangements for the weekend as visitor numbers are expected to rise further.

The Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (Naima) had expected around 150,000 visitors throughout the expo. However, more than 108,000 people had already visited by the fourth day.

Naima Executive Director Rajkumar Dulal said special parking arrangements have been made for Saturday and Sunday, following parking problems during the opening days when both the open areas of Bhrikutimandap and the two floors of Nepal Police Club were filled with visitors.

According to Media Space Solutions, the expo’s management partner, visitors have been lining up from 10 am even though the exhibition opens at 11 am.

The second edition of the expo aims to promote sustainable, green and technology-friendly transportation in Nepal. More than 55 vehicle brands are being showcased at the event.

A total of 52 new vehicle models have been unveiled so far, with electric cars, e-scooters and electric commercial vehicles emerging as the main attractions.

Visitors have shown particular interest in battery capacity, motor performance, driving range, after sales service, warranty and resale value. To attract customers, vehicle distributors are offering discounts, one year of insurance and vehicle tax coverage, free servicing and loans at preferential interest rates.

Alongside the vehicle displays, the expo is also hosting the daily Naima Mobility Dialogue, featuring discussions on various issues in the automotive sector with participation from domestic and international experts.

The expo will run until August 16. Various banks, financial institutions, insurance companies and other business organisations are partnering with the event.
