Elephant tramples woman to death in Jhapa

JHAPA, June 14: A 62-year-old woman died after being attacked by a wild elephant in Mechinagar, Jhapa, on Sunday morning.

The victim, Padma Paudel of Mechinagar 4, was reportedly leaving her home when the elephant charged at her, according to police.

The animal trampled her, causing fatal injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the body has been taken to Mechi Provincial Hospital for a post-mortem.
