Kathmandu, April 5: Since taking office, Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has launched an aggressive campaign and remarked that handcuffs have been placed in the hands of security personnel for 36 years.
Through his Facebook post, Minister Gurung expressed that the police administration has been kept under partisan influence, preventing it from working freely and effectively.
“For 36 years, handcuffs were put in the hands of security personnel,” he wrote on social media.
Since becoming home minister, he has accelerated legal actions.
Following the implementation of the Gauri Bahadur Karki Commission’s report, the police administration has started monitoring and controlling individuals involved in hooliganism across the Kathmandu Valley and other parts of the country.
