
Kathmandu, September 20: US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping held a phone conversation today. Trump called Xi over the “Truth” social platform, Trump informed.
He noted that during the phone call, the two leaders discussed many important issues, including trade, fentanyl, the need to end the Russia-Ukraine war, and the TikTok deal’s approval.
“I just had a productive conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping.” “We have made progress on many important issues, including trade, the need to end the Russia-Ukraine war, and the ratification of the TikTok agreement,” “he wrote, adding,”
“I also agreed with President Xi that we will meet at the APEC summit in South Korea. “I will visit China early next year, and President Xi will visit the United States in due course. We’ll talk on the phone again.”
A statement issued by China also said that President Xi Jinping stressed on the talks. “China and the United States can make progress together and bring peace to the world, but this requires mutual respect and cooperation,” Xi said, adding that the US should avoid unilateral trade restrictions and promote a fair solution to TikTok.”
Chinese and U.S. officials have held four rounds of talks in recent months and have so far stopped short of imposing extremely high tariffs and strict export controls.
