Kathmandu, August 11: People's representatives, industrialists and businessmen of Banke and Bardiya have drawn the attention of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to take initiative for operating Nepalgunj-New Delhi direct flights.
During the meeting held at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar, a demand was put forward by representatives from Nepalgunj to operate a direct Nepalgunj-New Delhi air service for the air facilities and commercial growth of the 32 districts of Western Nepal, as the necessary infrastructure has been developed at Nepalgunj Airport.
After receiving the proposal letter, PM Oli assured that he was positive about it and said that discussions would be held with the Indian government. He urged them to show interest in the work including further expansion of the runway of Nepalgunj Airport and land conservation.
