This is the report from Darchula, Far Western Nepal, bordered by India. The Indian side is constructing an embankment across the Mahakali border river without obtaining consent from the Nepal side.
Meanwhile, while constructing the embankment to control/divert the flow of the Mahakali River, one excavator used for the construction, entered into the Nepal side to exploit the river products for the construction works.
Residents opposed this act and captured the excavator for hours. Finally, the local district administration put pressure on the local residents to release the Indian excavator.
Astonishingly, this report was not appeared in the mainstream newspaper, as well as, none of the political leaders spoke about such hegemony.
