Kathmandu, June 2: RPP Nepal chairman Kamal Thapa has stated that the main opposition party Nepali Congress should apologize to the people in the cooperative fraud issue.
Chairman Thapa expressed his displeasure by commenting that the agreement made by the NC regarding the parliamentary committee formed to investigate the misappropriation of the cooperative’s funds was “worthless”.
Initially, the NC obstructed the Parliament meetings for a long time demanding to mention the name of the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane and took the stance that the Committee of Inquiry (TOR) should be made. But finally, on June 15, the day when the government brought the budget, the NC agreed not to mention his name, but to mention the cooperatives and organizations Lamicchane was involved in, and formed an investigation committee.
“In the case of cooperative dispute and agreement, if this agreement was to be reached, then the NC and the opposition parties, who obstructed the parliament for months, wasted time and incurred crores of expenses, should apologize to the people and pay compensation for the expenses”, Thapa wrote on social media, “because for such an agreement, The government was ready long ago”.
