Unholy politics, business ties.

The liberal economic policy followed by the Koirala government makes even greater the need for making the Nepalese business and industry efficient. Because of various constraints, the domestic business is finding it difficult to withstand the competition posed by foreign goods. In order to cope with this disadvantageous situation, the business in the country should learn to operate at a viably narrow margin and try to increase sales volume with a view to maximizing profit. The government, on its part, should not put financial burdens on the business to such an extent as to discourage the would-be investors from putting in their money in the productive sector. Unless we are able to lure those with money towards industry, investments in real estate and gold will continue unabated at the cost of those sectors which could transform our underdeveloped economy.
