BABBLES

By Babbler
Ekakrit Samajwadi Party (ESP) chairman Madhav Nepal said that political leaders should give first priority to the country and the people.
No, this is wrong! We know that Madhav Nepal had put strong pressure on the Indian Embassy, asking for one scholarship for MBBS study for his daughter. The story goes further ahead. To create one seat for Madhav Nepal’s daughter, one talented student was transferred to another medical college from the reputed All India Medical Institution in Delhi. We also know that President Ramchandra Paudel, when he was the speaker, begged for one scholarship in medicine for his daughter. Now, both the lucky daughters are medical doctors.
These two examples indicate that ‘family first’ is the motto of political leaders.
Should we hope for anything else from Madhav Nepal or Ramchandra Paudel like greedy leaders?
Not to forget, Madhav Nepal got a clean chit on the Lalitaniwas government land grab scam.
After cooperatives, the IPO fraud
There are thousands of cooperatives in operation in the country. They are doing well. Unfortunately, some ill-intentioned people under political protection, looted poor people’s deposits. Governments that were formed at different times are solely responsible for and directly involved in this looting scam. If the government had brought a strong law and also conducted monitoring properly, such VIP looters would not have had the opportunity to loot the cooperatives in a planned manner.
After the cooperatives and loan shark episodes, the IPO episode is likely to surface. Some looters, by producing fake documents through networking with the government authority evaluating business houses seeking public shares, have become successful in issuing IPOs cheating commoners. One case that has surfaced is Sita Hydropower. Project developer Sitaram Timilsina was found selling the project land ten times as much as what he had purchased for the project. This is an example of how those cunning people are cheating commoners.
We all know, the media industry is in trouble. However, by using media influence, one media house has been able to issue IPOs and commoners have rushed to purchase them. It is sure, this media house is going to face a heavy loss as the intention of issuing IPO was to cheat commoners.
This Babbler had purchased some shares of the Harisiddhi Bricks and Tiles Factory decades ago. Now, the company has already collapsed, and the land occupied by the factory has turned into a housing colony. This is the business.
If the government authorities do not control or monitor the activities of such public limited companies, the share market is also going to collapse.
Dalits in Nepal
Odd to see the caste discrimination in the “new” Nepal. The leaders in “new” Nepal have encouraged caste discrimination in the name of “identity” and reservation. Under the existing political system, the Dalit community permanently remains an untouchable class.
In today’s world, still believing in untouchability and caste discrimination is unfortunate. No human being is superior based on caste. King Mahendra promulgated the Muluki Ain, ending untouchability decades ago. All castes are equal, and there is no untouchable caste in society. However, those, who wrote the present constitution, by classifying Dalits, have recognized them as an untouchable class forever.
The caste system should be suspended, and untouchability in society should be ended.
Accordingly, the dowry system has become a serious problem in society. Many innocent women, especially in the Tarai districts, are being murdered. The local administration and the local bodies should be activated to end such anomalies.
Redefining menstruation period
In West Nepal, the Chhaupadi tradition exists. Females passing through the menstruation period are not allowed to enter their homes, and they are asked to spend four days in a corner of the cowshed. Some of them have died due to the snakebite. This is really inhuman.
The Chaupadi has been related to religious belief. Such wrong practices have to be ended, and the religious gurus should redefine the menstruation period for women.
The Garud Puran, which is being recited during the 12 days of mourning according to the Hindu religion, should be rewritten according to the present circumstances.
QUOTES OF THE WEEK
The leaders of the political parties don’t qualify to become politicians because they are power grabbers and opportunists. They are involved in the game of making Nepal a neo-colony of the foreign power and Christianization of the country. They have sold away our identity, civilization, and culture through unconstitutional acts.
Dr Shastradatta Pant.
UML has decorated former President Bidhya Devi Bhandari with the National Glory Medal. Bhandari enjoyed the dignified position of the highly respected position of President.
Whether this has inclined or declined her prestige, so far, I believe, this act has declined her prestige.
Lokesh Dhakal
They threw away the Panchayat; they threw away the monarchy, but they are continuing the evil practices of the Panchayat era! They wanted to become the king by themselves.
Is this the “new” progressive, scientific Nepal?
Aryal Mukti
The government announced a public holiday on Tuesday in honour of the Qatari Emir.
The king of a foreign country has been honored by throwing away their own king.
Also, give place, honor, and respect to the king of Nepal. The nation is above all!

If I had accepted the proposals from the Indian side when I was Prime Minister, I would probably have remained the Prime Minister even today. But I didn’t accept that.
The late Marichman Singh (Baisakh 5, 2056)
After cardamom and ginger, there is now an obstacle in the export of tea. Which country is creating continuous disruption in the economic development of Nepal? A lot of things are revealed by reading this title and the in-depth story published in the “Karobar” daily.

Indian behavior will drown Nepal. The autocratic Modi government wants to make Nepal a thorn creating instability.
Kritika Tharu
Allying with parties of opposite faith, whether before or after elections, is a crime based on ideological and political ethics, and extreme political opportunism.
Keshav P. Bhattarai
The existing provisions of the system and constitution are far from bringing development/prosperity, they cannot even manage the general politics of the country. The country is in a state of chaos.
The political leadership should discuss, reform or amend this constitution soon.
Surya Raj Acharya
The land that the king allocated to different social organizations is misused by those wolves. Is this an offensive move?
Roshan Shiwakoti
We need a stable government, politics, honesty, and trustworthy laws to create an environment to attract foreign investments. Foreigners know that there is a corrupt and unstable government in Nepal. If there is nothing sustainable here, why would they come? It is necessary to change the system and the leader who runs it.
