RPP and RPP-N prepare for a massive people’s movement

By Our Reporter

The two Rastriya Prajatantra Parties—one RPP led by Rajendra Lingden and another RPP-N led by Kamal Thapa—have intensified their activities to launch a protest against the existing political system.

They have been raising their voices for the restoration of a Hindu kingdom. Though divided into two factions, the two parties have the same political goals—the restoration of the monarchy and the Hindu state.

The RPP is now intensifying its activities for its Kathmandu-centric demonstrations slated for April 9.

Earlier on February 21, the RPP submitted a 40-point demand to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, including an alteration to the system, and it is organising the protest on April 27 as per the memorandum.

The party has formed a committee in each of the 18 local levels of the Valley for the protests. The RPP leaders said that they are protesting to exert pressure on the government to fulfill the 40 demands.
