Manisha Koirala worried about weakening of Nepali sovereignty

Kathmandu, January 27: Noted film artist Manisha Koirala has expressed serious concern about the weakening of Nepali sovereignty.

Addressing an interaction program ”Nationalism and One and a Half Decades of Republicanism” in Nepal, organized by the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) today in Kathmandu, Koirala said that thousands of Nepali youths are going abroad seeking opportunities; Nepalese colleges have remained vacant, about which she is seriously worried.

Koirala asked whether those youths who have gone abroad for further study will return to Nepal.

She also cited the present gloomy scenario of the country, once recognized as the country of warriors, “Brave Gorkhalis”.

“There is nothing greater than the nation and nationality,” Koirala explained and cited her long stay in India, where she saw people and leaders having a strong feeling of patriotism and nation-building.

Koirala also said that those who lost their nation are humiliated as they are being treated as second-class citizens.

She finally suggested that the Nepalis be aware of the nation before the arrival of an unfortunate situation.
