Kathmandu, January 26: The alliance parties in the government bagged 18 seats, leaving the UML one seat in the National Assembly elections held on Thursday, January 25.
After the result, the Maoist Center, the third-largest party in the House of Representatives, emerged as the largest party in the National Assembly.
Out of 19 seats, the Maoist candidates have won five.
The Nepali Congress won ten seats, the Unified Samajwadi Party two, and the Janata Samajwadi Party one.
UML, the main opposition party, won one seat, losing seven seats. Eight UML members are going to complete their tenure in March.
The number of NA members of the Maoist Party has reached 17 including the vice chairman of the NA.
The Nepali Congress has remained the second largest party, whereas, the UML, the largest party in the NA, has declined to be the third largest party.
