Kathmandu, 15 December: Sewa Lamasal has become the first female secretary of the Foreign Ministry in the country.
The cabinet meeting on Thursday approved the promotion of joint secretary Sewa Lamsal to the post of foreign secretary. Lamsal is the 25th foreign secretary and the first female foreign secretary to command the Ministry.
Foreign secretary Bharatraj Paudel retired recently, and since then, Lamsal has been working as the acting foreign secretary.
