Oddities on PM’s sojourn

By Our Reporter

Kathmandu, 28 September: We came to know from the government mouthpiece, “The Rising Nepal” that Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal had a one-on-one meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

But why didn’t the government photographer in the entourage send a photograph of such a meeting? Did that take place in reality?

Upon his arrival at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Monday morning, the Chinese PLA gave a guard of honour to PM Dahal.

PM Dahal, who cancelled China’s visit earlier coinciding with the Boao Forum for Asia, with the plan of putting his first leg in Delhi, was received without a guard of honour. How the Indians treat their men is clear.

PM Dahal addressed the UN General Assembly, which we saw in a photograph published in the government mouthpiece. Where were those delegation members from Nepal, we were unable to locate them even while the PM was addressing the UNGA. Perhaps, the General assembly hall was almost vacant, due to which the photographer didn’t wish to focus towards the audience.

We all know that the meeting with US President Joe Biden was just a photo opportunity. But it was reported in the government mouthpiece that PM Dahal had talks with President Baiden! There is a difference between talk and a handshake.

WHO or WTO? PM Dahal wrote on his “X” account that he had a fruitful meeting with the WTO chief by posting a photograph of the WHO chief. Whom did he meet, in fact?
