
Kathmandu, 24 March: Nepal’s literacy rate has reached 76 percent. The literacy rate of women is 14.2 percent lower than that of men.
According to the latest national census published by the Central Statistics Office today, the literacy rate of the total population aged 5 years and above is 76.3 percent. The literacy rate of males is 83.6 percent and that of females is 69.4 percent.
In the previous census, the total literacy rate was 65.9 percent. The literacy rate of males was 75.1 percent and that of females was 57.4 percent.
