Kathmandu, 19 February: Former King Gyanendra Shah has called upon the political parties to cooperate saying that he can no longer remain silent about the continuous decline of Nepal.
Extending greetings on the occasion of the 73rd National Democracy Day, former King Gyanendra said that the political parties, which are indispensable for democracy and the royal institution with a long patriotic historical heritage, should not delay for cooperation with mutual trust.
“Even in the most adverse moments of the sad situation, we did not lose our temperance and patriotism and did not even leave the country. However, we cannot remain silent. During these years, the country’s long-term peace, stability and international respect and sovereignty have begun to suffer. Now, to save this country, there should be no delay in cooperating with political parties, which are indispensable for democracy, and a monarchy with a long patriotic historical legacy,” the ex-king said in his greeting.
