MPs help themselves

The proposed bill on allowances and benefits for MPs has, not surprisingly, been greeted with an uncommon million from the national exchequer every year.

Indeed, the move has apparently the support of all MPs save two former UML ministers who went to the extent of registering a protest proposal against it but who were subsequently pressurized into withdrawing the same.

The two brave souls Prem Sing Dhami and Ram Kumar Gaywali who took the stand that they did have explained their stance on the ground that it was unethical for MPs to help themselves to additional fringe benefits and perks at a time when they were unable to provide any meaningful benefits to the common man.
