Former King Gyanendra, in a message issued on the occasion of the 300th birth anniversary of Great King Prithivi Narayan Shah and the national unity day, has stated that Nepal has become a playground of foreigners. The King has expressed concern over the trouble faced by people since the introduction of republicanism. More seriously, he has stated that the nation’s sovereignty, independence and freedom is facing a serious crisis. Due to the imbalanced policy, the state of foreign affairs is in dilemma, the former King has explained. Recalling the Great King’s contribution to the formation of present Nepal, the former King has explained the significance of the divine teachings. In conclusion, the former King has remarked that to continue a system that is unable to strengthen the nation and fulfil the aspirations of the people is just a waste of time. The former King has finally urged for being united to preserve our glorious existence, culture and tradition. The King’s message is clear to all.
The government was hesitant for announcing a national holiday on the occasion and observe the event as a national festival despite the request from different groups and political parties. Especially those leaders representing the political parties involved in inking the 12-point Delhi agreement were found reluctant in recalling the Great King’s contribution. However, some leaders from the very political parties were found paying tribute to the Great King recalling his contribution to unifying modern Nepal.
Contradicting, this time, Christmas Day was on Saturday, which is itself a weekly holiday in Nepal. To please their foreign bosses, the government announced a holiday on that Saturday i.e. 25 December 2021. This could be an example that on whose direction and instruction the present government is functioning. Former King Gyanendra and President Bidya Devi Bhandari paid tribute to the Great King but Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and his ministers were hesitant in attending the ceremony recalling the glorious history of Nepal. Sure, they were afraid of their foreign bosses who could object to their presence while paying tribute to the Great King. The truth is that the present system imposed on us is for destroying our rich civilization and the political actors of the day are acting as per the direction of their foreign bosses.
Nepal has become the playground of the foreigners as the political leaders, media persons, intellectuals and academicians are freely and openly working for the foreigners. Those so-called influential media houses are eager to advocate the foreigners’ interests instead of the nation’s sovereignty and independence. When the Indian prime minister was explaining his government’s achievements by constructing roads to Lipulek, Nepali territory, none of the ministers and the prime minister of the country pronounced a single word against the truth. The so-called mainstream media chose to black out the news.
Instead of contributing to the nation, all are in a race to loot the nation. What can we expect from such self-centred leaders and civil society members! Perhaps, this is the time to identify them! When the King speaks the truth, still, we see some hopes on the horizon.
