Alliance partners in the government to ask CJ Rana to stay on leave

Kathmandu, 2 December: The meeting of the partners in the alliance government held today has decided to ask Chief Justice Cholendra S Rana to stay on a long leave for ending the deadlock at the Supreme Court. 

The meeting held at PM’s official residence in Baluatar today has decided to ask CJ Rana to assign acting chief justice from among the SC judges and stay on leave, said minister and spokesperson of the government Gyanendra Bahadur Karki. 

The meeting was chaired by PM Sher Bahadur Deuba. Maoist Center chair Pushpakamal Dahal Prachanda, Unified Socialist Party’s chair Madhav Nepal and Janata Samajwadi Party chair Upendra Yadav had attended the meeting.

CJ Rana is hospitalized and undergoing treatment at the Armed Police Hospital after being infected with the Covid-19 pandemic.
