Kathmandu, 29 August: Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has decided in favour of 14 members of House of Representatives including Madhav Kumar Nepal. Responding to CPN-UML’s letter to take action against 14 defecting lawmakers, including Nepal, the Speaker concluded that no action was required against them anymore as new party had been registered at the Election Commission.
The UML had written a letter to the Speaker seeking the dismissal of 14 lawmakers who had defied party’s whip and voted to Sher Bahadur Deuba during his floor test last month. With the decision of Speaker, the post of lawmakers has remained intact.
