Kathmandu, 30 July: On Friday, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Hou Yanqi, seperately paid a courtesy call on Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Pampha Bhusal and Minister for Finance Janardan Sharma.
During the meeting Minister Bhusal said initiatives would be taken to resolve the problems faced in construction of China-funded hydropower projects and transmission line at consensus. She made a special request to the Chinese Ambassador to make arrangement for looking into ways and means to provide more anti-Covid vaccine.
Minister Sharma reportedly requested the Chinese envoy stating,”Nepal has proceeded towards the procurement of additional doses of vaccine from China,” he sought support and facilitation from the ambassador towards that end. He also promised to take initiation to sort out problems in the implementation of China-funded projects in Nepal. He assured that that the government would seriously carry out its role required for the under-construction road, hydro power and airport projects which have the investment from China.
