Kathmandu, 30 April: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the House of Representatives (HoR) has again issued another directive to the Nepal Army (NA) to scrap the contract and procurement process of the second package relating to construction of the Kathmandu-Terai Madhes Fast Track (Express Way) Road Project.
As the Defense Ministry ignored PAC’s earlier directives to halt the process and repeated correspondences to furnish clarification on project, the mini parliament has directly written to the Nepal Army to suspend all procedural works including international bidding. Discontented at the ‘invitation of tender’ published in the Gorkhpatara daily on April 25 by the Nepal Army for the Express Way, the PAC again directed to halt all works.
