Kathmandu, 21 March: Durga Prasad Timsina, a resident of Mai Municipality, Ilam, was in Kolkata-based prison for 40 years has been released on Saturday. Timsina had been ‘serving jail term without formal court trial’ for such a long time in Dum Dum Central jail on charges of murdering a woman in Darjeeling.
He was released after the Kolkata High Court order. He was handed to his brother Prakash Chandra Timsina in the witness of Nepal’s Consulate General in Kolkata. When Durga Prasad left Ilam in 1980, his brother Prakash was the 7th Grader.
